Wei Chen

Wei Chen founded Sunshine Enterprise, Inc after he earned his International MBA degree at the University of Memphis in August 1998. He has grown the company from a one-man operation to 400 employees in less than 10 years through organic growth. Wei’s dynamic leadership has resulted in tremendous growth in Sunshine's sales and the Memphis-based firm now has a manufacturing facility in China and four US branch offices. He was named Top Executive of the Year by Business Tennessee magazine in 2006 and Top 40 under 40 by Memphis Business Journal in 2008. He won the award for Executive of the Year by Memphis Business Journal in 2007 and Entrepreneur of the year award by FCBE at the University of Memphis in 2008. The company was also ranked fast 50 companies in Tennessee in 2005 and one of the fastest growing companies in the US by Inc. Magazine.

Wei was a member at Young President’s Organization and was a Board Member at Metropolitan Bank. He also served as a Board Member for a few nonprofit organizations which included Greater Memphis Chamber, Memphis In May International Festival, University of Memphis Alumni Board, and Greater Memphis United Chinese Association. He was an advisory Board Member for Fogelman College of Business and Economics and was a Trustee Member for Leadership Academy. Wei’s hobbies included golfing, flying, and hunting. He was the FIRST Chinese citizen to fly a single engine airplane around the world in his historic flight from May 22nd to July 29th, 2011. This flight took 69 days, flew over four continents, 21 countries, and 41 cities. This trip also raised a significant money for Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Wei also released his first book Around the World in 69 Days in December 2013. His book challenges people to think: What would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail?

John Chen

Former Chief Operation Officer

John Chen
John helped Sunshine Enterprise, Inc. at the beginning of its operations in 1998 at its early stage. After he earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering at the University of Memphis, he joined Memphis Light, Gas, and Water and worked through the ranks for six years. He was in charge of a $10 million annual purchase and maintenance contracts on computer hardware and software. He joined Sunshine as Chief Operation Officer in 2004 and he was in charge of the company's day-to-day operation. His extensive computer background has enabled the whole organization to run seamlessly. In addition, his in-depth understanding of both cultures, he has played a strategic role in managing the company operations on both sides of the ocean. John was a member of Leadership Memphis and served as the President of Greater Memphis United Chinese Association. He also served as a Director on the Board of Sunshine Enterprise, Inc. and Board of Suntrepot International, LLC.
Bruce S Pelynio

Former President & CEO of Heli Americas

Bruce S Pelynio
Bruce Pelynio jointed Sunshine in 2010 as the CEO of Heli Americas Forklift Division. He has had over 35 years of experience in all phases of the material handling industry, which included Management and Ownership positions with Fortune 500 Companies including Allis Chalmers, Maine Rubber International, Toyota Industrial Equipment and Yale Materials Handling.

Heli Americas was started in January 2007, by Bruce and Dobbs Management Services of Memphis, TN as the distributor for Heli Material Handling Equipment for a vast portion of the United States and Central America. Sunshine Enterprise purchased a controlling interest in Heli Americas in January 2010 and has assisted the Heli Americas operation in its continued growth and success in the material handling market in the US.

In addition to his once corporate responsibilities with Heli Americas, Bruce maintained a strong presence in the material handling industry through long term participation in industry associations including Industrial Truck Association, Materials Handling Dealers Association, American Rental Association, and the American Trucking Association. Bruce had earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Pennsylvania State University. 
Danielle Mitchell

From the moment Danielle walked through the door to the interview with Sunshine Enterprise, she made a tremendous mark on our company. She was a great cultural fit and rose to the duties of her role from day one. And just like Wei, she had a tremendous zest for life.

Danielle began her career with Sunshine Enterprise as Corporate Controller, effective, September 17, 2018. In her role, she was responsible for all financial reporting and transactions in StepUp Scaffolding USA, StepUp Panama, StepUp UK Limited as well as Heli Americas.

She had spent her formative years in business with two large Memphis-area employers, as listed below, in roles of Financial Analyst, Senior Financial Analyst and Financial Business Partner/ Controller.
•  Signify (Formerly Phillips Electronics & Philips Lighting) – Collierville, TN
•  International Paper (IP) – Memphis, TN
Additionally, she once functioned as a Lean & Continuous Improvement Manager where she became well versed in continuous improvement in both manufacturing and finance. Danielle was a graduate from the University of Alabama where she earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Finance with distinction in the same year. She also earned honors as Summa cum Laude of her graduate class. Danielle had also been very active in Financial Associations and Civic Organizations.
